Fridays are horrible.

So every Friday in January I closed. I normally don’t mind, in fact I don’t care that I did. It just sucks staying that extra hour, as we’re open until 11pm. Today was just like any other Friday - busy. Lent isn’t helping either, we went through wayy too much tuna and crab.

But today we all had to clear out of the apartment’s parking lot 10am thru 3pm. They wanted to clear the parking lot of the snow, so I didn’t mind waking up at 9, when I’ve been waking up normally. Thing is, I left for work at 1:30pm, and all the cars were gone, but there wasn’t anything plowed. Whatever.

I get to work, and they were slow, things were all caught up, but it was still an off day, everyone was just off. Whatever, it happens.

Well four-o-clock rolls around, and we get a call saying Heather has to go to the ER because she might have broke her ankle. Strike one for the day, shit happens, I hope she’s all right. Kenny, Mark, and Andrea were the only people who weren’t working. I knew Mark couldn’t, he was playing a show, and he requested off. Kenny had requested off, and he popped in around 3pm, something about playing basketball. We tried to call anyways, but his phones shut off.

So I call Andrea. I asked if she was busy tonight, and she said “I’m not working tonight.” I figured she thought I’d want her to cover for me, which is what I’d think, too. I told her the situation, and she was like “uhh, okay?” So she was a no-go. That pissed me off. I know if I didn’t do it, I’d catch SO much shit and be on everyone’s bad side.

So Katie ended up working 10am until 8pm. And Neil had to close instead of working until 8pm. The whole time he complained, he whined, he bitched.

We got slammed. We ran out of Chix Teri. We were running low on crab. Closing sucked. Neil’s incompetent.

I’m in a horrible mood.
