UPDATE: Tour de Glaman

Well I found out from Justin that Thankstaking show, at the HQ, is on Friday November 23rd. That put a kink in the original plans, but I’m going to just have to reverse my plans.

Spend all of Friday in Rhinelander, show, crash. Saturday day and night in Point, and on Sunday hit up Oshkosh and Madison for quick little visits. I didn’t think I could fit this into one weekend, but damned I will!

So Sleepy

It was so hard to wake up this morning, yesterday too. I woke up at 2:20 yesterday because my dad called me. Today I just barely got out of bed before 9:45. I hate this head cold, I’ve had it for like two weeks, and it’s messing me up.

Tour de Glaman?

Well I’ve been planning some kind of trip to try and visit all of my friends around the state (Oshkosh, Madison, Stevens Point, Rhinelander, and toss in Minneapolis). Thank goodness that Google Maps has an add destination option, I figured out roughly the total miles for all the stops in a nonstop version of the drive.

I would most likely hit up Madison, then Oshkosh, then Stevens Point, then Rhinelander, and possibly then Minneapolis. Minneapolis would be really iffy considering it is out of state, and Kevin might be in Rhinelander (unlikely). It’d be worth it if I smeet up with the Jan25th kids there, though.

So, including Minneapolis, that’s a total of 601 miles from Kenosha to Minneapolis following that route. Figure spend one night in each town, if that, for sure spend the night in Stevens Point. I’d have to spend the night in more than one, not about to just go on a  non stop driving binge. So, 1,202 miles round trip. Google says it’s about 11 hours roughly of a drive, almost a whole day there and back. Deffinately going to need sleep somewhere in there.

Lucas would more than likely open his apartment up in Madison, which I’d like to spend an evening with him and friends. Oshkosh, depends on what Bryce is doing. Stevens Point…pft. Rhinelander I know I could more than likely stay at Justins. Here is where Minneapolis is iffy again, Kevin has a small apartment, and I know I’d want to sleep them.

I’d leave Friday, no school, around 12, get to Madison around 2. Spend the night, go to Oshkosh Saturday sometime mid day. I think it’d be best to just shoot over to Stevens Point later around 9ish and crash at the House there. Spend Saturday night there, and a lot of sunday, then go to Rhinelander. Or possibly spend the night sunday and spend a lot of the day in Point. I could then go and spend the night in Rhinelander, hang out both monday and tuesday, or just the day monday and drive home, be home around 12 or 1am Tuesday.

Yeah, I’d have to drop Minneapolis. That’s only 718 miles then, without Minneapolis. Figure 20 miles to the gallon (get more like 23-26), 35 gallons total, almost a full tank. 35 gallons at about (gas is only 2.8…shouldn’t go higher than 3.25 by then…), about 117 dollars in gas. I could probably save that up in a month, or two weeks, hell even one. I could do this around Thanksgiving, which works out perfectly. There’s a Thankstaking show in Rhinelander some day in that area. Could plan around that, make calls, make sure everything works.

The Naked Gun!

So we’re doing laundry at Mark’s house right now, watching the Naked Gun.

The show last night was pretty awesome. Corruptor was awesome, they also won the Battle of the Bands first show. November 16th is the next one, which Cocytus will be playing. It’d be badass if Cocytus wins, because then there will be a show with Corruptor and Cocytus, plus some random wildcard.

In the pit someone’s boney knee gave me a nasty charlie horse and it is still all tensed up.

At 4:15 I’m heading to my parent’s house and following  them out to a place for my grandma’s birthday dinner thing. Then I go to work until close.

No Work, All Play.

I’m lovin’ it right now; no work, no school, just layin’ in my bed with my Mac, surfin’ the web.  Around 2 or 3 I’m going to Subway to see if our checks are in. Pay my cell phone bill, finally have a chance to hopefully start putting money in the bank again.

There’s a show tonight, one of three Battle of the Bands shows. Next month, or something, there is the second half of it. Then there is a third show where the winners of the first two shows play, and whoever wins that is the official winner.

The Way: 1, Racoons: 5

Today I scored a win against the ferocious battle between The Way and the Raccoons. For those who don’t know, The Way is the name we gave 30th Ave for the area between Washington Rd and  35th Street (Speedway, Subway, Gateway Tech, Gateway Cafe). I was moving my car to shine the lights on the dumpsters to scare off the raccoons from the garbage. There just so happened to be one, which ran into the parking space to the side of the dumpsters. I charged my car at it, and onto the grass slightly, barley missing it.

Bastard won’t be coming back, I hope. They’re freaking smart.

Keys, Keys, Keys, Damnit.

So yesterday at 7:30 Liberty woke me up because my damn alarms didn’t go off, and luckily enough she barely remembered to wake me up. I gave her a ride to work and I headed to the train station.

I visited my friend Nikki yesterday, one hell of a trip lasting from about 9am until 11:15am.

I boarded the Union Pacific North towards Clyborn, the norm, usually would take it to Ravenswood when heading to the Metro for a show.

I did some bad, which turned out better, planning though. I thought at Clyborn I would have a two hour “lay over”, more so sit-on-my-ass-and-smoke-cigarettes. I got off the train and walked down the steps, snapped a few photos and headed to the other side of the platform. I asked a girl that I think was in her mid thirties when the next train was due, and it just so happened I only had to wait 30 minutes, not the projected two hours.

At 10:48 I got on the Union Pacific Northwest towards Arlington Park, a pretty boring 40 minute train ride. A few stops down a guy came on with his bike, and I just happened to be sitting in the folding seat area where his bike had to go. So for the next 20 minutes I stood in between the cars waiting for a spot to open up, and eventually one did.

I arrived in Arlington Park at 11:20 or so, 2 hours ahead of what I was expecting to. I got a lot of reading done, almost 100 pages on my book in that time. Nikki was getting off of work at 1, and I knew she wouldn’t be there right away because she didn’t know I was there; her cellio device is disabled at the moment.

Then 2pm rolled around there was no sign of her. As a last resort I looked at the train schedule and figured I could either hop back to Kenosha via the 2:29 or 4:29 train. Shortly after that, though, a red PT Cruiser came down, with girls screaming and some kind of music from hell blaring. Up rolled Nikki with three other people. Two of them were her friends Sam and Monica, and then her cousin Amanda.

The whole ride to Nikki’s house was full of them, minus Nikki, singing at the top of their longs along with Barbie Girl by Aqua and Brittany Spears’ Crazy. I got to have my own fun though, some guys about 17 rode past on there bikes and were stopped. I asked them if they got a hold of the new Gnarkill CD, luckily they got the joke so it made it worth it.

For the whole time we just chilled at her house, talking, bullshittin, getting annoyed by Monica and Amanda. Monica is the loudest person with theeeeeee most annoying voice in the world. Sorry if you happen to be reading this for some reason.

There was some drama near the tail end between Sam and Monica, blah blah. The original plan was for me to catch the 6:29 train out, but I decided I may as well just take the 8:29, since I’d just have to wait 2 hours for sure this time at Clyborn if I took the 6:29.

Well time just happened to fly by, and it was about 8pm, so we headed out. We got to the station at about 8:19, I said good bye, etc, etc.

Everything went fine on the way home, until about 11:00 on the dot when I realized…I didn’t have my keys. A few hours being at her house I dug through the duffel  bag Matt lent me, and I took my KEYS OUT OF IT FOR SOME REASON and set them on her table. In the quick scurry to leave, I totally had forgotten. I called Nikki instantly, and of course, they were right there.

The first plan was to just use my weekend pass and go down there early, but she had to pick up her car from the city I guess, or something like that, I was too mad at myself to make any sense of anything. I bit a hole in my lip.

I just got the spare keys for the Aztek from my parents, so now I can atleast drive down there and pick my keys up tonight.

New Essay

Check out the new essay. I wrote it Saturday night on the train ride back from my little adventure to Buffalo Grove, IL. It’s longer than the other two, I’m proud of this one. I was going to proof read it this morning, but I’ve been copying it from my tiny notebook for the past two and a half hours, which I didn’t even realize. Oh yeah, it’s titled “Perception of Freedom”.

Now…Mobile Friendly!

Well, I just installed a WordPress plugin that allows better access to the site for mobile phones. Plus, now I have the option of posting via my cell phone if the time ever comes.

Blah Blah Drool.

So the internet over at the apartment has been down lately, so I’m posting this at school.

Had therapy today. Got some scar reducing things, and some putty for hand exercises.

UAW walked off in some major areas today, which means it might happen here. Mark’s dad told him it was possible. Hopefully it turns out like the three-day day one with GM.

Nothing much new.
