Today was my first offical B day of the semester, woohoo!
AP English was all right. We had an essay on Heart of Darkness, we had to look at a quote and explain how it has a theme that runs throughout the whole book, and use it to describe Joseph Conrad’s syntax throughout the book. I didn’t know what the hell to do at first, I just looked at the paper and wanted to just walk out of the classroom. I gave in, though, and eventually made up a pretty decent essay. I have to read a short storty by George Orwell and place it in retrospect to Heart of Darkness, and also do my character development paper on Okonkwo from Things Fall Apart.
Chinese was…all right. We celebrated the Chinese New Year, like every year for the past four years, but this year we did it with the Spanish students. I was absent for the picking of who-does-what, so I luckily didn’t need to worry about anything. We all were broken up into groups and made our sweet and sour chicken. All you need to do is one egg, crack it into a small bowl and whip it up, take about one raw chicken breat and cut up the meat into little pieces. Drunk all the chicken into the egg, then put the chicekn into flour. After getting them all flour’d up, put them back in the egg and then finally into breading. Deep fry and you’re set to go. Everyone in the Spanish commented how laoshi is crazy, which she is. I can’t believe I have had four years of her and not thrown myself out of a window.
Government and Politics…I already hate the class. I’d have to say I am one of the only people who are an extreme leftist in my class. We have a KMA kid in our class who I already butt heads with. I yelled a lot…kids said a lot of absurd things. For once I agreed with Stewart, or we both shared the same ideas in places. Jorge and John agreed with me on things, and Cazandra just got scared by my yelling. At one point I was standing and yelling (because everyone else was talking, and the person wasn’t even looking at me when I addressed them.) I’m going to need duct tape in that class. The most hilarious thing though was when I said I was a Libertarian Socialist, that confused Mrs. Anderson. People also think that saying you’re a political radical is labeling to another philosophical group.
Newspaper was the same as normal. I worked with Krystal on the Entertainment layout, found some press kit images, and yeah. I’m going to work with Krystal and this other newspaper staff member Mel on The Pulse’s website.
Work sucked. I didn’t want to work because I still feel kind of sick, plus I’m just feeling lazy. We weren’t all that busy, well not until 5:30. Usually that’s when we get a rush, or around 6:30. It went pretty smooth, I got out around 8:15, but then I checked my phone and found out I had to make a sandwich for my dad. Mark also called, he wanted to hangout. I called him back and we decided that tomarrow we (Brian, Mark, Jeff, and I) should all hang out again, like during the summer. The call was cut short because I couldn’t find my keys. I ended up breaking into my own truck and unlocking the door to open it and inspect my car to only find them stuck on my belt. Wow.
